Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Additional Time: 30 minutes (dough rising)
Total Time: 1 hour 20 minutes
Servings: 6-8 slices
Ingredients:
Dough:
- 1 cup warm water (110°F)
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Toppings:
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup vodka sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Steps to Cook:
-
Make the Dough: a. In a large bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the yeast is foamy. b. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a shaggy dough forms. c. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic. d. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise for 30 minutes.
-
Prepare the Chicken: a. In a medium bowl, toss the chicken cubes with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. b. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned, about 8-10 minutes. c. Remove the chicken from the heat and set aside.
-
Assemble the Pizza: a. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). b. Punch down the dough to release any air bubbles. Roll or stretch the dough into a 12-inch circle and transfer it to a greased pizza pan or baking sheet. c. Spread the vodka sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border. d. Sprinkle the cooked chicken over the sauce, followed by the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. e. Bake the pizza for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
-
Serve and Enjoy: a. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. b. Garnish the pizza with fresh basil leaves. c. Slice and serve the Chicken Vodka Pizza while it’s hot and enjoy!
Cook’s Note:
- If you prefer a thinner crust, you can roll or stretch the dough into a larger circle.
- For a spicier pizza, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the chicken seasoning or the vodka sauce.
- Leftover pizza can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
