- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2-3 lemons)
- 2 teaspoons lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Steps to Cook
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.
- Gradually pour in the heavy cream, whisking continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
- Add the lemon juice, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, for 10-12 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of heavy cream or milk to thin it out.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the sauce sit for 5 minutes to allow it to thicken further.
